When Your Nervous System Won’t Power Down: A Nervous System Reset for Anxiety, Burnout & Trauma Stress
If you constantly feel wired but exhausted, emotionally flat, overstimulated, or unable to fully relax, your nervous system may be stuck in survival mode. For many people living with chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, or trauma-related stress, rest alone does not always feel restorative. The body and mind can remain in a heightened state of alert long after the stressful moment has passed.
That’s why Meg Young Therapist is hosting a live virtual nervous system reset workshop designed to help people better understand how chronic stress impacts the body and practical ways to begin calming the nervous system safely and effectively.

A Trauma-Informed Nervous System Reset Workshop
On May 20 at 12:30 PM, When Your Nervous System Won’t Power Down: A Nervous System Reset for Anxiety, Burnout & Trauma Stress will provide a practical, supportive space for individuals experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, or trauma-related overwhelm.
This 30-minute Zoom session is designed to help participants better understand what happens when the nervous system becomes overloaded and why simply “pushing through” often makes symptoms worse.
The workshop is especially helpful for:
- Therapists
- First responders
- Medical professionals
- Caregivers
- High-achieving professionals
- Individuals navigating chronic stress or emotional exhaustion
Unlike traditional group processing sessions, this workshop does not require personal sharing. The focus is on education, nervous system awareness, and practical regulation tools that participants can begin using immediately.
Signs Your Nervous System May Be Dysregulated
Many people experiencing nervous system dysregulation assume they are simply tired, unmotivated, or not coping well enough. In reality, the body may be operating from a prolonged stress response.
Common symptoms can include:
- Feeling constantly “on edge”
- Difficulty relaxing even during downtime
- Emotional numbness or shutdown
- Racing thoughts
- Irritability or overstimulation
- Exhaustion paired with inability to rest
- Trouble sleeping
- Brain fog
- Increased anxiety or panic symptoms
- Feeling disconnected from yourself or others
When the nervous system stays activated for extended periods of time, the body can struggle to return to a state of safety and regulation without intentional support.
Why Nervous System Support Matters
Trauma-informed therapy and nervous system education are becoming increasingly important as more people recognize the connection between mental health and the body’s stress response.
The nervous system influences:
- Emotional regulation
- Sleep
- Focus and concentration
- Energy levels
- Relationships
- Stress tolerance
- Physical symptoms connected to anxiety and burnout
Learning how to regulate the nervous system can help individuals feel more grounded, present, and emotionally resilient over time.
What to Expect During the Zoom Session
During this workshop, participants can expect:
- Trauma-informed education
- Practical nervous system regulation tools
- Grounding strategies for anxiety and overwhelm
- A supportive, low-pressure environment
- No required participation or personal sharing
Following the session, attendees who are interested in deeper therapeutic support will also have the opportunity to book a free consultation call with Meg Young to explore whether therapy may be a good fit.
