Control of your life is within your reach
Regaining control of your mind is vital to your life, career, and family. It is time to take it back.
AND you are ready to get your life back
Since you are here, I know you are ready to regain control and live how YOU want; not a life dominated by the million frustrating thoughts you have every day, the “should” statements you tell yourself such as what you “should” have done differently in a situation, or the behaviors that aren’t you such as arguing, drinking, or withdrawing from life.
There is so much need for what first responders like you do. It would be a shame to lose another helping professional to fatigue, burnout, PTSD, or suicide. You are not alone. I too, was right on the edge of burnout, causing me to take another look at myself and my goals several years ago.
Even if you are not a first responder, medical professional, teacher, therapist, veterinarian or other helping professional, what Covid, Politics, the media, and everything else the world is throwing at us has done if nothing else, is thrown so many people’s world upside down. The anxiety of it all is immense.
Together, we will restore your passion and confidence either IN-PERSON or through ON-LINE (sometimes called tele-health) sessions. Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy, and sometimes more effective.
Many people regain control faster online than they do in person as they feel more secure participating in therapy from home instead of going to an office. My online (also called tele-health) sessions utilize a 100% HIPAA compliant web platform.
I am certified in EMDR, and online I use both EMDR and Thematic Map and Release which is very similar to EMDR. I also utilize CPT, Solution-focused, Coaching, and CBT. You WILL reclaim your life and emotions.
Does this sound like you?
Perhaps you are feeling extremely overwhelmed with your life as a whole – both at home and at work. You don’t feel like you have a place you can go to just unwind and think in order to figure things out. In person therapy with me would be a great option for you.
Or maybe you are more concerned about confidentiality – you don’t want to be seen at a therapist’s office, but you are still feeling extremely overwhelmed with life as a whole. ONLINE therapy sounds like a great option for you.
Why come to me?
First and most important: Because you need to get regain control of yourself, your emotions, and your life quickly and expertly.
You can go to any therapist, or you can go to someone who specializes in your unique needs. Similar to going to a general surgeon or a hand specialist for hand surgery.
One thing I know for sure is there are no quick fixes, but what I provide is a more time-efficient, specialized treatment model which will have you regain control of your life, emotions, and calling in the quickest, most complete way possible.
I enjoy helping adults, just like you, suffering from anxiety and depression stemming from known and unknown sources find a sense of peace and control in their lives.
I specialize with adults suffering from the effects of stress and burnout caused by your career primarily using EMDR and Thematic Map and Release, which is very similar to EMDR.
I specialize even deeper with first responders and medical professionals, understanding, but always learning your unique culture and needs when coming to therapy. You will not be told “you’re stressed and need an outlet” when you have no desire or energy or are already using outlets.
In fact, you are strong and resilient. I will help you pull on your reserve resiliency to recover control in order to continue to be the leader you are, thus continuing your calling. I will help you reclaim control of your life.
Tele-counseling is no longer a “unique” feature that I offer, but I have been offering a virtual option since 2015 utilizing a HIPAA compliant web platform. This allows me to offer 100% confidential sessions throughout the day as well as before and after standard work hours. Not only is this a legal and ethical way to provide mental health counseling, it has many benefits.
To ensure compliance and understanding of the risks of using technology, I am credentialed through the Telemental Health Institute and am approved by the Center for Credentialing and Education as a Board Certified Telemental Health Counselor.
A BC-TMH has met the nationally established distance counseling criteria and adheres to the National Board for Certified Counselors’ code of ethics and policies regarding the Provision of Distance Professional Services.
To stay up to date in my area of specialization, I am a member of EMDRIA (The EMDR International Association) and am a volunteer for the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program. Furthermore, I am trained in several treatment approaches as noted above, am a certified EMDR therapist, and have extensive training and experience in trauma recovery.
I also volunteer for Tidewell Hospice in their Blue Butterfly program, which is Tidewell’s children’s grief support.
My purpose as a therapist
I love seeing the growth in people as they transition to the person they want to be whether through trauma recovery or professional and personal growth. I have been drawn to bringing other people up, motivating and supporting them along their journey, and helping them reach their potential since I was a teenager (or even before if you ask those that know me; I just didn’t realize it back then).
